Overcast and very calm this morning as we departed Picton after fueling. We traveled down the Bay of Quinte past Belleville to Trenton and locked through the first three locks on the Trent Severn Waterway. In this area locks are spaced about one mile apart and we raised 18’, 20’ and 27’ we will climb from 243 feet the height of Lake Ontario to 840 feet and then back to 576 feet in the Georgian Bay the height of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan.

The middle of the day the sky darkened and it began to
shower and then of course harder and harder a few long thunder rolls
accentuated the shower. It then diminished, the sun appeared and a partly
cloudy day appeared.
This seemed to be a good place to stop for the day and we
are tied to a lock wall. Another cruising family stopped here as well and we
chatted about boats and adventures.
