It’s a good thing Orillia is such a nice town with a good
marina, because we may be here awhile.
The weather just will not give us a break. By this evening it was 55 degrees and the
gray clouds and rainstorms just keep rolling through.
But we did venture out in the rain just to get some
exercise. We walked up to the Orillia
Museum of Art and History. They had two exhibits; the first was about regional
soldiers in World War I and it was interesting.
The Art gallery had a show of Canadian Landscape artists in mixed
media. There were some great
pieces. Our favorite was a video called
“red carpet’ by Lisa Birke. If you would
like to see it go to: www.vimeo.com/channels/lisabirke
. The short film has won awards at a couple of film festivals and was chosen as
the best work in the show.
Then we stopped back at the Mariposa market for an ice cream
and visited with a nice gentleman who is planning to visit Wisconsin Dells and
asked us how long it took us to get here.
We told him almost a year – but it required some explanation.
I made chili for supper and we watched a Woody Allen
movie. I don’t know what we will find to
amuse ourselves if we stay another day.
