Ditto Landing Marina to Raccoon Creek Anchorage

October 2, 2015
Cold today, had to get out the gloves I purchased the last time we were in Alabama, no sun, heavily overcast and about 60 degrees all day. We are moving into the mountains and our anchorage tonight is surrounded by hills, very quiet and secluded off the river about a quarter mile. We went through the Guntersville lock about a 30 foot gentle lift. The town of Guntersville is all around the lake for several miles looks like a great place to live, but it needs a bit of sunshine, maybe on the way back. One commercial tow today, Mr. David, when I called and explained I would take the alternate route through Greenbrier Cove, he said he did not know the area and would call if necessary when he had visual contact.  Many fishermen in their fast bass boats were present standing in their boats and casting, looks like fun. The scenery is spectacular, strong vertical cliffs with rock walls, rolling hills covered with trees, and nicely placed homes. This is our third travel day toward Chattanooga, looking forward to visiting the town.

Once at anchor, I asked my lovely bride if we could have chili for supper. She of course was well prepared, had all the ingredients and began cooking, but the stove ran out of propane, my bad. So we had chili on the grill, we adapt well.

Mr. David not familiar with the river??
