We traveled the Tennessee River eastbound today, going
through Wheeler Lock first thing in the morning. The crane mascot was easy to spot as he kept
an eye on things. The scenery is
gorgeous and we saw 2 pleasure boats – that’s the total amount of marine
traffic for the day. The gray, rainy sky
and cool temperatures did not make it a very good day to be moving.
We came past the Tennessee Valley Authorities largest
nuclear plant – this one plant produces enough power every day to power 2 Million
homes. Then we passed the Redstone Arsenal. It is surrounded by a national
wildlife area, so there was no sign of civilization for many miles.
We are tied up at Ditto Landing marina near the Alabama Hwy 53 bridge that leads to Huntsville. It’s a relatively new marina, in
a beautiful scenic area. There is a park
building on a hill above the marina and tonight there is a concert scheduled
there. Hope the weather doesn’t keep the
whole audience away. We met some Loopers
from Kentucky here at the marina – they are just starting their trip and took
the trip to Chattanooga as their “shake-down cruise”. Good Luck to you Moni and Rick Vickers.

Dennis & Carol,
ReplyDeleteJoell and I are discussing Blogging...and we have a question....
Can you load pictures and text into your blog app. and up load it to the internet at a later date when you get let's say free wifi at a marina?
Thanks and we hope everything's well with you.
