Frustrating day, we began calling the Brandon Road Lock at 6;30 AM, finally we were allowed into the chamber at 1:00 PM, huge delay. Only one valve was working, changing the fill time from 20 minutes to 45 minutes. They locked up a split tow and down a tow, all the time the number of pleasure craft waiting increased from 3 to 7. Once locked through, we began to call the Dresden Lock with no response initially and no time reference. However, when we reached the Dresden Lock he had begun to set up for a pleasure craft lockage, we rafted three deep and were locked through quickly. Two more hours of travel with darkness approaching brought us to the Spring Brook Marina this evening, an adequate marina.
