Malletts Bay Moorings

Today is a prep day, we played with Al and Charli for the last two days and today we need to get ready to travel to a foreign country, Canada. I know easy, right? Well, I need to change oil while in Canada, so I tried to buy 40w oil but because we are in the north all I can find is 15-40 not my first choice but it will do. We will go through Canada customs on Tuesday, so we read about the custom rules and how to find the customs dock. We need to stock up on food, soda, milk, etc. I checked our safety equipment to be sure we comply and noticed our flares will expire in August, so off to West Marine.
I rebuilt both the heads this morning, they needed work, but both seem to be fine now. Carol called around for diesel prices, since we will fill before crossing. Internet access is very expensive in Canada for our phone system, currently we pay $10 for 2 GB of data. In Canada, the same 2 GB is $500, so we will need to turn our Cellular Data off on our phones. That means, no access to marina websites or phone numbers. No weather radar, weather reports, access to Wikipedia, phone flashlight, level, compass or any of the cool things we can do with our iPhones. A learning process.
We will get a pump out in the morning and fill with diesel and then head north. We plan to cross into Canada on Tuesday.
We will publish blogs as internet access becomes available, I am told some marinas do provide access but in most cases it is week and may not be usable. We will publish tomorrow.
No good pictures from today, but lots from earlier this weekend.
