Buckhorn Island to Grafton Harbor

Lots of rain last night with thunder and lightening, and a bit of residual this morning with heavy cloud cover and showers. We departed about 8:00 and cruised 46 miles to Grafton Harbor by 1:00 an easy cruising day. This completes our 229 mile trip on the Illinois waterways, our next travel day will take us down the Mississippi River.

Grafton Harbor has a 15 passenger van that they will loan to Loopers and other boaters, they ask that if we drive to the Walmart in Jerseyville that we put $15 of gas in the van. So the 6 of us went shopping, I need to do an oil change, everyone else was able to provision their pantries. Tonight we had supper at the Ruebel Hotel Restaurant, a fine meal, the chef came to our table to discuss how he created our entrees'.

From a distance a brick home, closer a less than perfect river boat
We passed 3 river crossing ferries today, on the lower Illinois River
Heavy cloud cover most of the day
Pere Marquette State Park, setting up for a weekend encampment
