Frankfort to Ludington

We bought a house today, the mobile closer Terri was great, on time, organized and explicit in her instructions. So we were able to complete the process in about an hour an a half including walking to the local bank for a second signature. We got a pump out and fuel for $2.45 per gallon before leaving for Ludington about a 50 mile trip. We arrived in Ludington about 4:30 a nice afternoon cruise, wind shifting from northwest to west with less than on foot waves but north rollers a continuation of yesterdays weather. We docked and began to discuss weather and the next stops with MelindaB and scheduled the next couple of days, weather permitting. We always plan for the weather in this case we will go to White Lake on Friday to an anchorage, if the weather is OK, if not then on to Muskegon on Saturday. The marinas in this area are full on the weekends much like Door County and so we have learned to book early and hope the weather cooperates. Much easier to cancel a reservation if necessary than to try to book one later. The ferry Badger lands here in Ludington, an very interesting process as they dock the boat. They go to a point and drop an anchor, then spin the boat around the anchor into the dock and pull up the anchor in the process. It is said there is a trench where they drop and pull the anchor.
