River Dunes Marina

It is all about the weather, we planned to travel on Thursday to Belhaven about 44 miles. We knew a major storm was approaching but the weather window looked OK for an early departure and arrival. I looked on Google maps at the new marina sight where we then planned to stay for two days while the front passed. There was little protection from the south to the marina and the expected winds were 30 mph from the SSE. We decided it was best to wait out the storm here at the beautiful River Dunes Marina. It was already gusty at 7:00 our departure time and the wind speed increased as predicted throughout the morning and early afternoon. The rain finally arrived after midnight and the winds decreased after raining and blowing for a couple of hours.

I installed the water system accumulator in the morning, had a bike ride and then a swim. All in all I am very comfortable with the decision to remain here to wait out the storm.
