We stayed at anchor today, strong thunderstorm at 7:00 and a cloudy morning. About noon, we went to shore and rented two Kayaks for an hour to learn a bit more about Kayaking. We paddled along the shore and saw ducks, geese, and cormorants swimming in the brush at the shoreline. One of the group camps had a large inflatable island, there were 5 people aboard and I believe it would hold 12 easily. We would like to have Kayaks aboard Reunion, but are not sure of the size we need and where we would store them once aboard. After a bit of ice cream, we walked toward the group camp area at the park and found two large encampments. Nice way to gather a group of people, we could see a joint dining area and at least 20 individual tents. We did not understand the language the people spoke but believe it was eastern European. I swam on the anchor and under the boat to check the zincs and bottom paint, all is well. Our new Manson Boss anchor was only partially buried, but we are holding nicely in the sand. We are now learning that since we are traveling slower now we would like to do more swimming so I ordered a swim ladder that will attach to the underside of the swim platform.
Since we were Kayaking and concerned about getting our phones wet we left them behind, sorry no pictures today.
